Then you know just how special my home is. I am in need of short term help to keep up with my house payments. I lost my job in November and I don't have to tell you how hard it is out there to find a new one. The good news is that it appears that I am closing in on a job. In fact even as I type this I got a verbal proposal for a contractual sales position. So this fundraiser will help me get back up on my feet so I can continue to have dinners and party's at this house and fight the good fight.

Death of a family member

Well I am still not ready to talk in length here about Annais' death. But her passing marks a very important point in my life. Not only was she a close companion for the last 15 years. But she has been witness to all the major events that have shaped me into the person I have become. I will miss her dearly and I am thankful that I have had her as my guide and companion in this journey. I love her and I miss her.... I promise I won't sit down next to the vitamin C section in Rainbow and cry about her again.... what will people think. Annais died on Sunday October 8th 2006 at 3:15pm in the arms of her dad's after a valiant and dignified fight with cancer.

Greg and Victoria's Big Secret

Nope. They are not secret lovers. These two little schemers have been working on an art project for several months. Taking pictures from one of my dearest friends collection of personal work and creating a wonderful two photograph installation with custom framing designed photographed and assembled with love and care. I can only guess that it was my husband/lover/best friend who inspired this idea. To make matters even more interesting, thru collusion with my friend and employee Carmine they managed to get into my office at work and start the installation.

But wait, they did not figure upon the one fly in the ointment.... I came back to find the door to my office locked and shut. I heard a ruckus in the office and I knocked and knocked and knocked until finally they opened the door to my surprise.

I can't say enough about how much this means to me... finally turning my office it a refuge for me. The pictures the chose show a rather interesting landscape that only Victoria can capture, but fully integrated by Gregs pointed eye to detail and amazing frames that no one else could hope to have created themselves.

My love to my Husband Greg for perservering through this project to bring it to life and in yet one more way making my life easier and worth living to its fullest. There is undying friendship and love to Victoria for collaborating on this project and being a part of my life. Pictures of the art work in my office to be posted later.

Well, It has been a year of change. I started the year by laying off half of the people who worked for me and declaring corporate bankruptcy. Greg was layed up for 3 months with his back out. I decided at that point, it would be the year of the vacation. It has lived up to that completely, two trips to Peurto Vallarta Mexico (January and October), two trips to Kauai (March and December), one trip to Europe (Berlin Germany, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Sitges Spain, and London, a trip to Burning Man. That in total was about 3 and 1/2 months vacation. In the middle of that, sold the bankrupt company in May only to have the sale retracted in the 11th hour. Then just to make things interesting, sold it a second time to Synopsys. That sale closed just before my 40th birthday and 10 day vacation to Burning Man. Spouse got sick for 6 weeks with mystery illness. Married Sean and Lynsey in Mexico and spent 9 days with Dawnie and hubby there.

Now I am working for Synopsys with my golden handcuffs on. Interesting being back in the corporate world (www.synopsys.com). My role is Director of R & D of I/O Products and I manage the team that came over with me from my company and a team of about 15-20 people who work in Yerevan Armenia for me (i.e. low cost of outsourcing).

On a personal side, the Vibrant Campout 2005 was wonderful. All of the peeps were there in full force for the July 4th long weekend. I dj'd the set of a lifetime back to back with BioJeff. I can not say enough about how much that guy inspires. Then to make matters interesting I launched a new monthly event with Scottino and Jive called FiX (www.fixsf.com). This is the outlet I have been wanting for a long time. These guys are kick ass and they really are going to push me to the next level. Both of them are high energy, creative, smart funny, good looking and have great crews that they hang with.

On a sad note Vibrant (www.vibrant.org) is retiring itself for better or worse for the time-being. After six years of highly successful collaboration Phil, Kris, Ray and myself are having a hard time finding common ground on how to keep things going and keep everyone happy. I would like to point out the highlights of Vibrant since its launch back in 1999 at DanceHauz to our last Campout. We broke ground in a strictly volunteer driven event, hand crafted tickets, warm house music to hard driving progressive and even occasionally pop infused goa trance music. The campout in the summer has become synonymous with Vibrant and Vibrant defines the campout. Vibrant became the one and only event that successfully became an organic event lead organically by a torch passed from hand to hand over the years, Phil and Kris lead the way, then Pippa and Keith, then Roy and Kristen, then Ron and Dawn, then Kris and Redvelvet. I am completely impressed by the creativity, passion and drive that everyone has brought to the event. One of the most amazing moments in the course of Vibrant was LoveParade 2004, Kris, Phil and Greg worked tirelessly to bring that event to life and make our look, sound, ethics, and community come alive and represent. Finally Ray.... what can I say. the guy is always out on a limb, trying to push the bounds. He is the guy who brought us the HoeDowns at Halloween. I can't tell you how many times folks have come up to me asking if we are going to do another one this year and regail me with tales of the last Hoe Down that they attended. That is only the tip of the iceberg.

But with every ending there is a beginning. I am looking forward to starting my non-profit arts community and getting music and dance flowing and generating support for my crew of folks (www.vibronic.org). That brings me to the end of the year. Along the way I have made a couple new very close friends (Wayne Corbit comes to mind) and rediscovered old friends (Victoria is inspiring me in ways that even she can't know). What a rollercoaster ride.

Just a little Tribute to the Softest Boy

Buhhda, raised by Pippa by hand, he was always the funny little one. He was 7, his nickname from Greg and I was Softest Kitty in the World.....he certainly lived up to it. He had the best milk mustache. I like to call him the licker....when it was time for me to wake up...he would always stand on my chest and lick my forehead until I got up and pet him, and then gave him food. He was christened VAK (Vicious Attack Kitty) by Ladi after he left here bitterly scared for life. To be honest I think she brought it on herself....after all she is a witch.

Greg and I are the official lesbian crazy cat ladies of Harper St. But in the end despite the fact that we have 6 cats....now 5...at 22 Harper. We love them all. Buhhda stood out in our lives as a smart low key cat who pretty much was chill except when he decided to whack Anais upside the head. As a rule he slept with us, and usually was one of the last out of bed in the morning. You can never be prepared for the passing on of one of the fuzzy guys. So we were surprised by the suddenness of him passing on. He is the first of our cats to pass and he was the last one we expected to go first. We were very fortunate to have him in our lives, I personally will miss him alot.

FiX - Finally after much discussion and many name changes, I am proud to announce one of my new Music, Dance, Performance projects. I can't say enough about Scott and Stephan, my collaborators in crime. Two hot sexy fun creative guys who have their heads on straight with lots of energy. I am sure that there is a confluence of energy in the universe that made this come together the way it did. Shine is a new bar/club that just opened in the last couple of weeks, it is being backed by a group that is also part of the Deep End. Can't tell you how many hours I spent dancing my ass off there in the afternoons the past couple of years. The place is beautiful and has a real sweet sound system. We are going to pack the dance floor for sure. Well I hope it all comes off the way I think it is.....

Ok, so I am writing this from my hotel room in Tokyo. First I ask you, why am I here. The last time I checked my job description it didn't say anything about marketing requirements research as part of the job description. Second, why, why, why do the Japanese have this love affair with cartoon characters and that perfect hue of yellow and orange that just speaks of a muted easter chick. Hate those two colors and they just have it everywhere in their advertisements.

One more Rant....3G.....GSM.....I get this new f***ing fone from work on the T-Mobile service and they claim coverage in Japan/Tokyo...have a nice map on their website with GSM coverage. I get here and find out its only for 3G fones. Well Duh! The US is not on 3G technology so why bother even advertising coverage in Japan....not technically possible. So I arrive without a telecommunications device that works but a murse full of US phones. Arrgg!

I can't wait to come home, but it won't be without getting first lost in the Japanese train system here in Tokyo or getting lost in Tokyo looking for the next icon of my life that will top the Poo Pig that Steve and Antoinette gave to me. Personally I think I might have been a more well adjusted child if firstly Steve and Antoinette were my parents and secondly if I had grown up with my very own Poo Pig. Squeeze it and brown slime poo comes out of its lovely loose sphincter. hello this is not a childs toy, this is pure fetish.

Got on my bike to work for the first time

Has anyone ever noticed that super models like Kate Moss are always allowed to look like coked out heroin addicts and they call that fashion. But if you and I look like that we are called sad sorry excuses for human beings.

Anyhow I digress. I am prepping myself for the travel month. 1 week in Puerto Vallarta and 3 days in Portland. Yep. First I get to do my minister duties for Sean and Lynsey in PV, Dawnie is coming with us. Then a few days back at work and then jetting up to Portland to see Wayne and Colleen. I couldn't think a better combination of lovely people to be with. I am sure I will come back relaxed supercharged and have a big smile on my face.

Well things seem to be coming to a point in my world these days. I see alot of things converging and focusing and ending. New beginnings all around. That doesn't mean I am out of my angry, I have been violated head space entirely....but I am starting to let go of that. Meditation and intention discussions (hopefully not to new agey for all of you out there). I love breathing exercises, cept when my cats decide to sharpen their claws on me when I am doing them.

Oh, lastly, I get it, I understand why people like riding motorcycles, despite the danger. I was riding my bike to Mt. View for the first long run ride ever, and there across the bay the sun was rising, the bay looked like a nice flat mirror (no waves at all) and all I could think of was walking across the playa at sunrise 10 years ago at my first burning man, coming home after a night of dancing my arse off at rave camp with Rob. Delusions of Grandeur by the Hardkiss's, you will get my drift...listen to it.

Well it has been quite a week. I must say I am more tired than I expected even at the end of the weekend. Got out a bit this weekend and saw my friends Sy and Rajni, and Anne who were all in town for the various activities around Love Parade. Unfortunately Vibrant didn't make a showing this year. With everything that has been going on this past month I wasn't really feeling very parade like myself.

The good news is that the bike situation has been solved and I have a bike a 85 Yamaha Maxim 700 . Whew! Took it for my first ride today around the city. F'ing nice day to be out on a drive. Went up to Twin Peaks and enjoyed the ride and the view. Check out the pic of me and the bike.

Also check out the pic of Victoria and I dancing at the Deep End this year at Burning Man. This was the year of the underwear and speedo's for me. I can say I ended up with a great tan this year. Woo Hoo. Well I am off to bed, I have a telecon in the morning with my folks in Armenia.

Another Day behind me....also a good weekend

Had a pretty productive and non-productive weekend. Mostly chores and such at Harper on Saturday with a couple stops in the evening at John D's house for his end of summer party. Lots of pretty boys....but not so friend boys. But all was not lost we had Antonio, Sean and Lindsey arrive and save the night. Then we got to stop by and see Ana for her b-day. Lots of fun and surprises hanging out with all the gang there, not to mention a much more friendly crew of folks awaited us there.

Sunday was the fund raiser. It ran on the smaller side, but we filled the bus with donated goods, wonderful intentions and an idealistic sense that it all could make a difference. I hope that it does and that they all have alot of adventures helping those people displaced in Louisana get back on their feet. I played lots of fun music got to hang out with new and old friends alike. Ziv was in rare form and painted this wonderful tribal earthen tattoo on my shoulder that wrapped down my arm. I think a day party is the way to go, sun, dancing and beautiful people.

Today was very productive, I am almost starting to feel like I might be taking hold in my new position and learning something about people management. Greg is definitely feeling alot better so that is a load off my mind, although the doctor community has alot more medical testing that they want to do, hopefully we nearing the end of all this. Had some other bumps in the road today on the personal side, but I feel that it is all for the best and it will enable me to move forward in my life. I will follow up with more on that nebulous subject at some other time.

Well....what is up for me. I am closer to purchasing my first motorcycle. I am so in need of a bike so I can get from Mt. View train statiion to my job and Synopsys. I am going totally crazy....I can't get a decent meal and I can't run errands. Carmine got me a Sago Palm for my office so at least I feel like there is some human element to the flourescant light in my office. My boss informed me that I have a group of engineers who technically work for me in Armenia today. Yep Armenia.....for those of you who don't know where that is...it is next door to Turkey....and is 94% Christian. So I am going to start making plans to go to visit my employee's and figure out what the heck these guys are about and getting them up and running and doing something productive.

Otherwise....Greg is still not feeling well...and his doctor finally stepped in to look him over to find out why he has been on and off not feeling well. No idea what is going on at this point we have ruled out the first guess by the nurse practitioner, but it will be yet another week before the tests come back. Trying to not worry....but that is my thing, worry, worry, worry. I hope he feels better this weekend.

Well here it is my first blog. Why am I blogging. Hmmm, simply because I have a few really good friends who live so far away and in such strange timezones, I can't talk to them real-time.

So what is up today. Working at Synopsys feels strange at best. Home is almost dusted and cleaned from the playa dust. What else can I say, I miss Ladi, wish Victoria was in town. Love my Pippa more than ever that girl has it going on. Can't wait to see my brother....Mr B-day boy will be in town for the Love Parade. Starting to think about PV and Sean and Linsey's wedding....wow, can't believe it is almost here. Rob is his normal mysterious self and not sure where he is these days or what he is up to.

My hubby seems to be coming along fine at home and finding some sort of direction for himself. Nothing could make me happier, but to come home and find him happy. I am still living the life on the path less traveled. I feel like a explorer in a land of mystery and danger.
